Born in Drogheda, Co. Louth, Bernadette spent many childhood summers in her mother's
native Portmagee, which nestles between the Kerry mountains and Valentia Island.
It was the scenery of this area which inspired Bernadette with a deep desire to paint.
Being happily settled in her Waterville home, Bernadette teaches art at the nearby
Tech Amergin, an arts and cultural centre where she also serves on the Management
She paints continuously and her paintings have been widely exhibited. Her painting
“Ballinskelligs Bog” was bought directly from an exhibition and now hangs in the
Killarney Park Hotel.
Bernadette frequently undertakes commissions and her paintings often become treasured
wedding or retirement presents. Her clients can specify subjects and Bernadette will
be pleased to discuss any ideas.
If you wish to discuss a possible commission please contact Bernadette.
“Gallery One”, in Caherciveen, is run by an artists’ co-operative group including
